The Point Breeze Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1910. The original fire department had an operating charter for about 15 years. Submitted by Anonymous
The department originally started in 1905 as bucket brigade to help minimize loss due to fires. In 1907, this brigade was formally organized into the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department under Chief Edward H.Schulter, and granted a charter by the State of New York. The current firehouse at 15 Noel Road was opened in 1917.
Flatlands VAC operates out of our building on the corner of Avenue N and Schenectady Avenue. This building serves as our headquarters and training center.
The South Bound Brook Fire Department (Somerset County Station 55) is located in Central New Jersey and protects the Borough of South Bound Brook (approx. 1 mile) out of our station on Edgewood Terrace Submitted by Anonymous
